Mr. Lyon has a litigation practice in eastern Oregon and southwestern Idaho. Mr. Lyon’s practice includes insurance, insurance defense, transportation liability, construction defect, personal injury and property damage. Mr. Lyon is a member of the Oregon and Idaho State Bars.
Mr. Lyon grew up in the Seattle, Washington area. He received a bachelor of arts degree, cum laude, from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon in 2001, majoring in studio art with a minor in Japanese language. During college, Mr. Lyon participated in a one-year language intensive program in Osaka, Japan. After graduating from college, Mr. Lyon developed and became president of Byus America Company, a bicycle distribution business supplying independent bicycle dealers in the United States with bicycles and parts. In this position, Mr. Lyon managed a network of five independent sales representatives across the United States, and managed United States accounts for a Taiwan-based trading company. Later, Mr. Lyon also worked in litigation support, providing litigation document management and trial visual aids.
In May 2009, Mr. Lyon graduated from Lewis and Clark Law School. During law school, Mr. Lyon was a Legal Writing teaching assistant, where his duties included research and preparation of course materials, review of student written work, conferences with students, collaboration with other teaching assistants and assistance to the professor in class. Mr. Lyon participated in the Jessup Moot Court team during his second and third years in law school, and received the Best Brief award in the Mid-Atlantic Regional competition. Upon graduation, Mr. Lyon was selected by the faculty of Lewis and Clark Law School as a member of the Cornelius Honor Society, which is a society of law school students who have distinguished themselves by their scholarship, leadership and contribution to the law school community. During law school, Mr. Lyon performed a summer externship with the Oregon Tax Court, and worked as a Oregon Certified Law Student for Kahn & Ifversen, a law firm in Portland, Oregon.
Mr. Lyon is an associate attorney in the Boise office. He is fluent in Japanese and Mandarin Chinese.
