Mr. McColl grew up in Eagle, Idaho. Mr. McColl graduated, cum laude, from The College of Idaho in 1995 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in History. He studied political theory, international relations, and law at the University of Utah, graduating with a J.D. in 1999. Mr. McColl served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Kathryn A. Sticklen of the Idaho Fourth Judicial District through 2000. He has been with Carey Perkins LLP since 2000.
Mr. McColl has a litigation practice with a strong focus on defending physicians and other health care providers in malpractice litigation and before state licensing boards. Mr. McColl also handles product liability, construction defect, insurance coverage dispute and real estate litigation. Mr. McColl seeks recovery for insurance companies and their insureds through subrogation claims. Mr. McColl’s trial experience includes complex medical malpractice actions and he has handled appeals and argued before the Idaho Supreme Court. He is a member of the Idaho Bar and is admitted to practice in state and federal courts.
Mr. McColl chairs the George Wolfe Endowed Scholarship Selection Committee at The College of Idaho, campaigns for YMCA Strong Kids and regularly represents volunteer guardians ad litem in child protection proceedings.

Mr. McColl and his family are very active in Idaho’s outdoors and enjoy skiing, biking, hiking, fishing and camping.
